Ohio State class of 2013 verbal commits: how they performed in high school football, Week 13

Tim Fuller-US PRESSWIRE

The high school playoffs are entering their final stages, while the Buckeyes continue their unbeaten streak. With only a few games left on the season, who will be crowned state champs?

The Ohio State Buckeyes aren't the only Ohio team to keep their dream season endings alive. Many Ohio high school teams continue to drive through their tough competition on their way to possible state championship appearances. While the win at Camp Randall was quite spectacular, head coach Urban Meyer will be keeping a close eye on the outcome of the remaining teams hosting his future players.

Let's find out how they did this week and where they are headed in the future:

DE Joey Bosa – St. Thomas Aquinas and defensive end Joey Bosa defeated Miami Beach, 42-7, as Aquinas moved to 9-2 this season. Aquinas looks to continue this promising run.

ATH Jalin Marshall – Jalin Marshall and Middletown have ended their season. They did not play this weekend, but Jalin will certainly be preparing for his Ohio State career in the near future.

DE Tracy Sprinkle – Elyria and defensive end Tracy Sprinkle didn't play this weekend, as they did not make the playoffs. Sprinkle's season is over, but what a performance he put on week in and week out. Sprinkle ended the year as the National Defensive Player of the Year.

ATH Ezekiel Elliott – The human highlight reel that is named Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 220 yards on 26 carries and scored three times as St. Louis Burroughs defeated Monett, 28-7. Burroughs is 13-0 and headed for the state championship game this Friday.

QB JT Barrett – Wichita Falls Rider defeated Fort Worth Dunbar, 44-26, to move to 9-2 on the season. Quarterback JT Barrett will not play as he recovers from knee surgery.

DE Tyquan Lewis – Tarboro and defensive end/outside linebacker Tyquan Lewis) remained undefeated with a 52-24 victory over Elizabeth City Northeastern. Tarboro moves to a perfect 13-0.

ATH Darron Lee – Darron Lee had four touchdowns and the game winning interception as New Albany defeated Columbus Marion Franklin, 32-30, tonight.

ATH Taivon Jacobs – Taivon Jacobs and Suitland lost, 41-6, to rival Wise in the Regional Final, as Jacobs had 7 catches for 88 yards, including a 25 yard TD reception.

OL Tim Gardner – Lawrence Central and offensive lineman Tim Gardner defeated Greenwood Center Grove, 28-15, to move to 14-0 on the season. Lawrence Central pushes forward to the State Championship game.

DB Cam Burrows – Defensive back Cam Burrows and Trotwood-Madison defeated Cincinnati Turpin, 42-14, to move to 11-2 on the season, extending their stay in the state playoffs.

DL Michael Hill – Defensive tackle Michael Hill did not play. Hill was ruled out for the rest of the season after having finger surgery.

S Jayme Thompson – Defensive back Jayme Thompson had a big game with seven tackles including two sacks and an interception he later returned for a touchdown as Toledo Central Catholic defeated Avon, 42-14. Central Catholic moves on in the playoffs with a 12-1 record now.

DL Billy Price – Austintown Fitch lost to Cleveland St. Ignatius, 35-26, in the first round of the playoffs, ending Billy Price's season. Price had an outstanding season and we look for exciting things from him in the upcoming year.
