Big Ten Media Days 2012: League Announces Preseason Player Watch List

Big life, big stage, big logo.

Watch lists are all the rage. There are even rumors of watch lists of watch lists. Until we reach those halcyon days, we'll have to make do with what we can get (as noted in the famed Supreme Court of Beggars v. Choosers v. The State of Ohio).

The Big Ten conference on Thursday morning kicked of the 2012 Big Ten Media Days by unveiling their second annual players to watch list. The premise is simple: five players from the Leaders Division and five players from the Legends division worth keeping an eye on as the 2012 season comes to fruition.

So what do the make ups of these lists look like? Behold, in all its glory, after The Jump:

LEGENDS
Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
Denard Robinson, QB, Michigan
Johnny Adams, CB, Michigan State
William Gholston, DE, Michigan State
Rex Burkhead, RB, Nebraska

LEADERS
John Simon, DL, Ohio State
Braxton Miller, QB, Ohio State
Kawann Short, DT, Purdue
Montee Ball, RB, Wisconsin
Chris Borland, LB, Wisconsin

A distinctly Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Wisconsin feel, no?

John Simon and Braxton Miller rightly get the credit they deserve. Now we'll see if they can live up to the expectations.
