Following Ohio State's huge win over arch-rival Michigan and a perfect 12-0 season, head coach Urban Meyer and his staff have kept the momentum going. Today, they received some more good news: 2013 4-star athlete Christopher Worley has given his verbal commitment to Ohio State over scholarship offers from Arkansas, West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Cincinnati, and many others.
Worley is the 20th commitment for the class of 2013. That class is projected to reach around 22-23 total commitments come National Signing Day, but could inflate to around 25. Worley is the country's No. 29 athlete and the No. 21 prospect in Ohio, according to 247Sports.
The 6'3", 190-pound Worley played a variety of positions at Cleveland-Glenville, including outside linebacker during his junior season. He continued to play linebacker and also mixed in a bit of safety during his senior season. Proving his pure athleticism, Worley also contributed on the offensive side of the football as well, playing some tight end and wide receiver.
Worley has proven that he is a true athlete that should be able to do a multitude of things with his skill set. With the ability to move around at different positions, he could possibly play strong safety or outside linebacker and contribute early on special teams. As of now, Ohio State may be looking to put Worley at strong safety, but it depends heavily on how the rest of the recruiting class shapes up.
This is quite a pick up for Ohio State, as Worley not only continues the already-rich pipeline between the Buckeyes and Cleveland-Glenville but 2014 athlete Marshon Lattimore has already drawn an enormous amount of interest from the country, including Ohio State. With the commitment of Worley, this could give the Buckeyes an inside lane on the track of gaining Lattimore's verbal pledge. Previously, the Buckeyes had added their first commit of 2014 in Cleveland-Glenville's Marcelys Jones.
