Potential future Buckeye, Saeed Blacknall.
Happy Valentine's Day. Accordingly Urban Meyer is showing just about every highly touted prospect in the 2014 class some love and offering them full rides to Ohio State. Who got an offer Wednesday?
Though the warrior poet Andre 3000 once made sure we could never possibly forget that February 14th was Valentine's Day, there was no love lost (well maybe some) between 4-star MI DE Lawrence Marshall and the Buckeyes Wednesday evening. The high profile defensive end decommitted from the Buckeyes on the social media service Twitter, and immediately followed suit by RT'ing all the cyber trolls and fan boys and girls he agitated/excited in the process. Recruiting in 2013, folks.
Marshall had been committed to Ohio State since this past Sunday, when while on a trip to the Buckeyes' junior day, he gave his pledge to the Buckeyes. He even spoke of not taking any more visits elsewhere after the commitment saying "Ohio State is the pick". He promptly followed that up by visiting Michigan State and taking in the Michigan State-Michigan game Tuesday, and then spending all day Wednesday with Brady Hoke's staff in Ann Arbor before deciding to decommit. Such is the life of the mind of a seventeen year old world class athlete. One would suppose there's always all-everything Quin Blanding who could step up and fill that vacant fifth spot in Ohio State's 2014 class.
But as alluded to in our lede, Wednesday wasn't entirely about heartbreak. 2014 DT Chris Williams out of Tyrone, Georgia was the beneficiary of an Urban Meyer offer on Wednesday, getting the chance to add Ohio State to his potential list of suitors:
Ohiostate just offered !!

Longtime interested in Ohio State, 4-star WR Saeed Blacknall finally got the invitation he'd been coveting when the Buckeyes extended a verbal offer his direction. Blacknall had stated previously that if Ohio State offered, they'd be his favorite:

Chris Lammons, a 3-star corner from Florida, was also on the receiving end of an OSU offer on Wednesday. Lammons is a bit under the radar at this point; a 5-9 corner from Ft Lauderdale, he had offers from each of the major powers in-state in Florida, but only interest from the likes of Indiana prior to today. He might wind up a Jayme Thompson type, earning his fourth star on the camp circuit:
Just got Offered From Ohio State :)

One trend worth keeping an eye on appeared to be that shortly after Ohio State offered some of these 2014'ers, Florida State immediately followed. Not a horrible strategy for Jimbo Fisher and company, unless of course they actually don't wind up landing any of them.
A couple other brief notes courtesy of our own Zach Clark on some other prospective future Buckeyes:
2014 stud 4* WR & #Buckeyes target Artavis Scott out of Tarpon Springs, FL tells me he speaks to the #OhioState staff "all the time."
