Frankfort, Kentucky product 3-star athlete Ryan Timmons is expected to announce where he'll be spending the next three-to-five years of his life playing college football at a ceremony at his high school at 1 p.m. EST this afternoon. The 5-foot-11 athlete/running back/wide receiver is ranked by the 247Composite Rankings as the 6th best player overall in the state of Kentucky and the 32nd best running back (where they project him) in the class of 2013. Timmons visited Florida this past weekend, his final official visit, a week removed from a trip to Columbus to check out Ohio State.
Timmons has effectively winnowed down his decision down to either Kentucky (which he's expected to choose) or Florida as it's been rumored that Ohio State no longer has a committable offer on the table for him. During his senior year, he scored 45 touchdowns, rushed for 1306 yards, and reeled in 1004 through the air. He's widely expected to play either wide receiver, running back, or kick/punt returner at the next level.
With Ohio State still apparently actively pursuing James Clark and having just received the commitments of Dontre Wilson and JUCO WR Corey Smith, it would take an almost unprecedented shocker for him to announce he was heading to Ohio State. Kentucky is experiencing new life under new head coach Mark Stoops and has recently brought in a number of higher profile commits they weren't often able to add under the previous administration.
