The defending National Champions traveled to Evanston, IL, just north of Chicago, this past weekend for the last regular season meet in the NCAA season.
It was a weekend of strong senior performances. Max Sterns, senior and leader of the Men's Sabre squad, finished the weekend with a 19-2 record. Men's Epee senior Marco Canevari finished 14-2 and both seniors ran the table against top rival Notre Dame to help the Men's team claim victory.
Chicago native and Sabre senior Allison Miller lead the Women's Sabre with a 26-3 record and together with sophomores Chelsea Martinez and Celina Merza went on a 10-0 (team record) tear through the competition.
Brother-sister Olympian foil duo Zain and Mona Shaito went a combined 43-5 on the weekend.
All in all the Buckeyes finished 15-2, with a narrow Men's loss to Standford and a the Women falling to Notre Dame. Ohio State finished the season with an overall team record of 40-11 and is now heading into Conference Championships with a strong chance of claiming another Midwest title.
Before that the Junior Olympics are this week and certain underclassmen Buckeyes have qualified and will be taking part.
