Shelby Township, Michigan native (and soon to be Eisenhower High School graduate) Ben Moffitt made it official last week when he chose to accept the invitation by the Ohio State coaching staff to join the football team as a preferred walk-on. The 6-2 275 pound lineman picked the Buckeyes over opportunities at Kalamazoo College, Rhodes College, Ohio University and Michigan, but in the end had to go with where he felt most comfortable "I went on a visit and fell in love with Ohio State" Moffitt told Land-Grant Holy Land "The school is incredible and the coaches have been really helpful through the whole process, I'm just happy to be a Buckeye".

Almost all walk-on's know nothing is guaranteed and Moffitt is no different: "I am just going to go in and try to get better and do my part to contribute". Ohio State is definitely one of the top teams in the country year in and year out and coming off an undefeated season in Urban Meyer's first year at the helm, national title talk is at an all-time high. There's no question what Moffitt wants to be a part in bringing to Columbus, "I look forward to helping the best team in the country win some championships".
Ben is already building a solid relationship with his future coaches and can't wait to soak in all the knowledge the top notch staff is ready to pass along but is most looking forward to learning from his future position coach " Coach Warinner is great and I can't wait to learn from him." Moffitt didn't just pick Ohio State to be a part of the prized football program; academics also played a huge role in his recruitment. "The school is incredible" Ben said "I wanted to choose a good school academically and OSU is exactly what I was looking for, I turned down the other programs due to the quality education I will receive at Ohio State".
