In the midst of the chaos that accompanies National Signing Day, the Buckeyes have one less recruit to worry about. Four-star wide receiver and Mr. Football for the state of Indiana, Terry McLaurin, has signed on the dotted line, and officially joins Coach Meyer and the gang in Columbus.  McLaurin first gave his verbal to OSU back in June, and has been solid to the Bucks ever since.

McLaurin, a 6'0, 190-pound wide receiver out of Indianapolis, Indiana, spent some time in the backfield during his career at Cathedral High School, but he is expected to shift to the outside as a receiver in Urban's spread offense. During the better half of this year McLaurin was flying under the radar, but when The Opening rolled around, McLaurin showcased his skills, coming in second overall in the final Nike SPARQ ratings. McLaurin came in second only to the #1 overall ATH in the 2014 class, Speedy Noil. During his senior campaign, Terry racked up 953 yards receiving on 58 receptions with eight touchdowns, and 750 yards on 77 rushes, reaching pay dirt on the ground six times. McLaurin also took two kick returns to the house his senior year.

Given McLaurin's relatively early commitment, many major schools didn't try too hard to pry him away, but that didn't mean that McLaurin didn't attract other interest. Programs like Iowa, Indiana, Cincinnati and Missouri, along with several MAC schools, also extended offers to McLaurin.

Our Christopher Jason took a look at McLaurin's tape and had this to say about his upside:

McLaurin possesses arguably the fastest straight-line speed in the Buckeye recruiting class. He can take the top off the defense and also has a knack for finding soft spots in zone coverage. McLaurin has great hands (plucks the ball) but he needs to fill out his frame and would benefit from a redshirt this season.
