Ohio State already had multiple defense backs locked up in the 2016 recruiting class, including Jordan Fuller, a four-star defensive back who committed to the Buckeyes on Monday. Ohio State had a chance to get even better at the position, but missed out on one of their top remaining targets, as Carlos Becker just announced his commitment to Florida State.
The 6'2, 185 pound Becker is a consensus four-star, and is ranked as the 153rd best player nationally, the 15th best cornerback, and the 24th best player in Florida, per 247Sports. Becker had offers from a number of high profile football powers, including Florida, Miami, Ole Miss and Clemson, along with Florida State. The Buckeyes charged hard in this race to make up a lot of ground, becoming the other finalist, but it wasn't quite enough to put the Buckeyes over the top.
It's possible Ohio State does not sign another defensive back in this class, but if they did, current Cincinnati commit K'Von Wallace is likely their top remaining target.
