A huge win against Nebraska in front of the largest crowd in Ohio Stadium history last week most certainly helped the Buckeyes chances on the recruiting front. Over 30 recruits were on hand to see Braxton Miller and Ohio State explode for 63 points against what is historically considered a great defense.
While some recruits attending have already committed to the Buckeyes, there were plenty more that remain undecided that seemed to sincerely enjoy their time in the record-setting crowd. In the days following the game, we saw a lot of recruits giving their opinions on their time at the 'Shoe.
One recruit in particular seemed to really enjoy his visit and confirmed to multiple sites that Ohio State was now his leader. The recruit in question is 2014 5-star running back Jalen Hurd:
5 Star RB Jalen Hurd who now favors Ohio State has rushed for 1967 yards, 26 TD, Avg 10.5 yac, after 8 game.

It's been quite a while since we've heard from 2013 LB Mike Mitchell about his recruitment, but he ended some of the secrecy behind it when he announced over the weekend that Ohio State was still in the lead over teams such as Oregon, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M.
On a disappointing note, 2013 commit J.T. Barrett was injured last week in a 44-17 win over Brewer. Initially ruled as a "twisted knee" Barrett had to leave the game and didn't return. Barrett is the only quarterback in the 2013 recruiting class for the Buckeyes.
Later on Saturday, we learned that it was much worse: Barrett had torn his ACL, his MCL and his meniscus. We later learned after a second opinion it was *only* a torn ACL and lateral meniscus. This is obviously a huge loss for not only his team, but for Ohio State as well. It will most likely take around six months to get back to full strength, but I'm no doctor and everyone's injuries are different.
Mark Pantoni is hard at work again, sending out a handful of offers to some top-tier recruits. One of these recruits is 2013 linebacker Skai Moore. Moore is a 3-star out of the state of Florida. Last year, Moore had 70 tackles and 3 sacks for his high school team. Here's Skai in action:
This week in new offers:
- '14 TE Bryce Dixon
- '13 LB Skai Moore
- '14 ATH Myles Autry
