For the Buckeyes, a big win on the road in Beaver Stadium against one of the tougher teams they've faced provided a spark for the final three games. With the chance of winning the Leaders Division still alive and well, the Buckeyes do indeed have something to play for this year.

To win nine games like the Buckeyes have takes a special kind of mentality. The players that head coach Urban Meyer wants out on the field are the relentless, never-say-die type of athletes. Those sorts of players can change the way a game is approached and played and normally comprise the teams on top when it's all said and done.

Let's take a look at how some future Buckeyes who might just fit that mold looked in this week's slate of high school football games:

ATH Jalin Marshall - Jalin Marshall had a huge game over the weekend, accounting for five touchdowns as Middletown defeated Cincinnati Princeton 41-14. Marshall rushed for 168 yards on just 12 carries with three touchdowns. He also completed 3 of 7 passes for 91 yards with two touchdowns. As for his stats this season, Marshall has gone 48/131 for 765 yards and 11 touchdowns when throwing and proved his dual-threat capabilities with 189 carries for 1,421 yards and 14 touchdowns.

DE Tracy Sprinkle - Elyria and defensive end Tracy Sprinkle lost to Mayfield 31-21, ending any hopes for Elyria to get themselves into the playoffs.

QB JT Barrett - Wichita Falls Rider lost to Denton Guyer 21-10. Rider played without quarterback JT Barrett who is recovering from knee surgery. Barrett was quoted in the past week saying that his knee surgery went very well and he's already starting his process on the road to recovery.

DE Tyquan Lewis - Defensive end Tyquan Lewis had an outstanding game that included three sacks as Tarboro defeated Wilson Beddingfield 34-0.

OL Tim Gardner - Lawrence Central and offensive lineman Tim Gardner defeated Indianapolis Warren Central 21-14 to move to 11-0 on the season, continuing their unbeaten roll.

CB Cam Burrows - Trotwood-Madison and defensive back Cam Burrows defeated Vandalia Butler 27-3 to move to 8-2. Burrows played another solid game as he continues to provide consistency on the defensive side of the ball.

DL Michael Hill - Pendleton defeated Landrum 38-21 to win for the seventh time in ten games. Defensive tackle Michael Hill did not play, as he is recovering from hand surgery.

ATH Taivon Jacobs - Athlete Taivon Jacobs had one reception for 25 yards and a TD and also picked off a pass during his game.

DL Billy Price - Billy Price unofficially had six tackles including two sacks as Austintown Fitch defeated Youngstown Cardinal Mooney 49-7. Price was all over the Mooney quarterback for much of the night and dominated at the line of scrimmage.

P Johnny Townsend - Orlando Boone and punter Johnny Townsend defeated Orlando East River 28-12 to even Boone's record at 4-4 for the season.
