Urban Meyer and company may not have made any splashes on the recruiting landscape with respect to the class of 2014 just quite yet, but that's not going to stop Thad Matta and the basketball Buckeyes from doing the same. In a bit of a shocker, the prep coach of Keita Bates-Diop, the 27th ranked commit in the class of 2014 per Scout, announced he had committed to Ohio State Sunday morning.

The 6'7" 190 pound Bates-Diop is a power forward out of the Bloomington-Normal, Illinois area and currently plays for Illinois Wolves in AAU and University High School in Normal. The consensus four star is said by all to be equal parts long and athletic and has a reputation for finishing around the rim (something this current iteration of basketball Buckeyes could very much use). As with many forwards of his age and development, he'll need some time in the weight room before he's an impact player at the next level.

This follows the formal signings of class of 2013 players Marc Loving and Kameron "Kam" Wiliams during the last week.
