After struggling to earn style points in the weeks prior to the Penn State game, two consecutive impressive wins have the Buckeyes at a season high spot of 5th in the AP Top 25 poll, tied with the SEC East leading University of Georgia.

Oregon remains second behind unanimous #1 Alabama with Kansas State and Notre Dame also holding static at 3rd and 4th respectively. Nebraska jumps up to 18th after a questionable call aided victory over Michigan State but pretty clearly control their destiny in the Legends division. Michigan also received votes, but no other Big Ten team qualified for the Top 25.
