Johnathan Hankins may be headed to the professional ranks, but he can leave Ohio State knowing that he was a 2nd team AP All-American. The Associated Press revealed their All-America teams Tuesday early afternoon, and joining Hankins on the second team is Buckeyes' cornerback Bradley Roby. Roby continues to evaluate his draft status and a decision on his future with the program is expected in the next week or so. Ohio State senior defensive end and the player that head coach Urban Meyer has repeatedly called "the heart and soul of the team", John Simon, was named a third team All-American.
Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller missed out on the accolades, with Texas A&M quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel being named the first team quarterback, Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein the second team, and SEC champion Alabama's quarterback A.J. McCarron the third team QBs. Miller should have no problem staking his claim to one of the honors next season as a junior, however.
