The Big Ten evidently listened to fan reactions from their previous survey and unveiled three possible divisional realignment plans this afternoon. Two of them aren't horrendous ideas (but not necessarily great ones either), continuing the current divisions with splitting Maryland and Rutgers between the divisions (and renaming them), and the East/West plan that we've all been begging for over the past year.
But as for the third? As SB Nation's Jason Kirk pointed out, it's some serious Lord of the Rings Eye of Sauron type stuff. The league proposes an Inner and Outter divisional alignment (as pictured above), which well, while puts Ohio State in the same division as Michigan and Michigan State, manages to somehow come up with division names even dumber than Leaders and Legends.
Once again the league requests you let your voice be heard through some kind of faux representative democratic process. Still, for all the million ways this can be over thought, allow us to spell this out plain and simple for the power brokers that be:
