GameThread: Winthrop Eagles at #7 Ohio State Buckeyes

The Big Ten basketball tournament. The NCAAs. The Final Four. Each milestone during the Ohio State men's basketball team's 2012-2013 season begins here, begins now. Thad Matta and the Buckeyes are 8-1, and while they can't get back the canceled game against Marquette nor the loss against Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium, what they can do is keep moving forward. Not just toward Saturday's epic clash against Kansas, but towards their here-and-now goal of deflating once perennial NCAA Tournament presence, Winthrop.

The Eagles are in a bit of repair, with former Wake Forest assistant (and Xavier player) Pat Kelsey in his first season trying to steer the ship. They do bring an excellent scorer to the table in Derrick Henry though. While the team goes but only six-to-seven deep, they are coming off a huge upset victory over last year's Sweet 16 team (and a side returning almost all their starters) in Ohio University in Athens.

The Buckeyes meanwhile look to continue the momentum they've showcased in the past several contests while also keeping their fingers crossed that star junior point guard Aaron Craft rediscovers his (offensive) mojo. And if not, well, we all know Sam Thompson's good for a highlight reel dunk (or three).
