We'd heard talks for a while that Urban Meyer and his staff wanted to play future Ohio State spring games in locals like Cincinnati and Cleveland. Cincy in particular was targeted as a possible destination for as soon as the 2013 game (during which Ohio Stadium was needing to undergo necessary renovations).
But per a university release, Ohio State is officially going to be playing the 2013 edition at Cincinnati's Paul Brown Stadium, home of the Bengals:
It is official: the 2013 Ohio State spring game will be played at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati. Date is April 13 with a 1 p.m. start.
Prices will be $18 for club seats, $12 for general public and $5 for ages 2-6. Tickets on sale in 2013 at typical Ohio State locations.
We'd mentioned before that while Cincinnati is a nice start, Meyer could target all kinds of future destinations to net the recruiting (and fan base) benefits.
If nothing else, this should be a great opportunity for those southwest Ohio based Buckeyes to see the team in action.
