After an offer from The Hat over the weekend, LB/DE Lewis Neal has rescinded his verbal commitment to Ohio State. Per Silver Bullet recruiting, Neal's new options gave him reasons for pause and a subsequent change of heart:
"I don't know my scholarship is open he said (Coach Meyer), so I guess I'm not committed anymore, but I still consider them. I just don't think I was ready yet and took the right amount of time to think on my decision to be honest."
Neal goes on to say that his decision has been incredibly hard and he's going to need more time to evaluate it. Anyone who's been seventeen or eighteen and had to make the decision what to do with the next four or five years of their lives has to be able to empathize. It remains to be seen whether an LSU commitment at this point would give their fans the same kind of visceral, gut-check reaction Gunner Kiel's changed mind did.
