OL/DT Timothy Gardner Commits To The Ohio State Buckeyes

Remember Tim Gardner? Even if you aren't much of a recruiting aficionado, surely you do. A little more than a month back, Gardner committed to Ohio State, in twitter profile/tweet form at least. He quickly did damage control deleting the offending tweet (though the profile stayed that way for some time) and had some wondering whether or not Gardner would actually be hurting his chances to ever be a Buckeye as a result of the situation.

Wonder no more. The offensive lineman from Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis is the 16th member of Urban Meyer's 2013 recruiting class.

The 6'5" 315 pound offensive lineman was in Columbus for Friday Night Lights and evidently his work with former Buckeye greats LeCharles Bentley and Orlando Pace and offensive line coach Ed Warinner was not only enough to sway him to commit (again), but also get the school to honor the commitment.

Say what you will about Friday Night Lights being somewhat the dud with Ohio State's fanbase; it's already paying dividends on the recruiting trails.

See the words of encouragement the former Rimington Award winner Bentley gave the newest Buckeye and check out video highlights of Gardner in action after the jump:
