2013 4-Star Defensive End Tyquan Lewis Commits To Ohio State

Tyquan Lewis is a 4-star defensive end hailing from the state of North Carolina. Ohio State's staff has been in constant contact with Lewis throughout his recruiting process. On Thursday, all of that effort came to fruition as Lewis announced his commitment to the Ohio State Buckeyes. Tyquan becomes the 17th commitment in the Class of '13. Weighing in at 6'4", 226 lbs, Lewis selected the Buckeyes after announcing his top 3 earlier this month, which included LSU, Ohio State and his home state of North Carolina.

In his sophomore year at his high school, Lewis filled out an impressive stat sheet that included 63 total tackles, coupled with 12 sacks for the season. Though coming into the 2012 season the Ohio State defensive line stole the headlines, they have not been overly impressive to start out this year's campaign. Lewis has the chance to come in and contribute from the get-go.

Lewis is a key grab for head coach Urban Meyer and Mark Pantoni as they continue to build on their dominance of the recruiting landscape. Lewis has room to improve, but he has a strong burst of speed and continually chases down running backs in the backfield.
