Ohio State announced Thursday evening that DE John Simon, OL Reid Fragel, DE/OLB (per their release) Nathan Williams, and CB Travis Howard are all expected to play in post-college football all-star games in the next few weeks. Simon and Fragel will play in the Senior Bowl while Williams and Howard will both participate in the East-West Shrine Game.

Senior Bowl practices begin in Mobile, Alabama Monday, Jan. 21 before the game itself takes place Saturday, Jan. 26 at 4 p.m. ET in Mobile's Ladd Peebles Stadium. The game will air on the NFL Network (1346 on Time Warner Columbus/Delaware).

The East-West Shrine Game will take place in St Petersburg, Florida's Tropicana Field Saturday, Jan. 19. The game itself kicks at 3 p.m. ET and will also air on the NFL Network.

Other Buckeyes could still get invitations to either (or additional) all-star events. The Senior Bowl is typically considered the crown jewel of the circuit, and actual NFL coaches run the two sides. Oakland's Dennis Allen and the Lions' Jim Schwartz and their staffs will have the honors this season. Interestingly enough, Michigan's Denard Robinson is expected to play in the game primarily at wide receiver (though he'll also see time at running back like he did at season's end this year).
