The Buckeyes have their replacement for fallen senior captain Christian Bryant – at least on their weekly issued depth chart.
Though Saturday's actual starter is still subject to multiple more days of practice, the Buckeyes have elected to list Corey "Pitt" Brown as the starter at the "strong safety" (we use that term liberally as this season and in years past, the two starters at the each safety position have alternated titles) spot.
With Christian Bryant shutdown for the season, Urban Meyer had mentioned at his weekly press conference yesterday that Brown, sophomore Ron Tanner, and freshman Vonn Bell would all be considered for playing time at the position. Buckeyes defensive backs coach Kerry Coombs had mentioned at the press event yesterday as well that Brown would likely be the guy for now.
The only other change on this week's depth chart from the Wisconsin game to present is the listing of starting nickelback/Star Tyvis Powell as the backup at the other safety spot to C.J. Barnett. Powell is still listed as the starter in that role he's previously played throughout the season.
Here's the Northwestern depth chart in whole:
