It has been a relatively quiet week when it comes to Ohio State recruiting, but there was some news worth noting that came across the news radar last night.
Last night, news broke that the Buckeyes offered 2015 Washington (DC) Gonzaga offensive guard Richie Petitbon. The 6-foot-4-inch, 290 pound offensive guard has offers from many of the nation's top football programs including the likes of Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Wisconsin, and others.
The Tigers and Tide are the perceived leaders for his commitment, but it's still extremely early in the 2015 recruiting cycle. The Land-Grant Holy Land recruiting team will try to catch up with the rising junior offensive linemen to talk about his interest in the Buckeyes in the coming days.

Tim Hinton made the trip to Tennessee last night in order to watch 2015 wide receiver target Van Jefferson in action. The 6-foot-3-inch, 180 pound wideout caught five balls for 135 yards. Unfortunately he twisted he ankle near the end of the first half and came out of the locker room in a walking boot after the break. Fortunately, it appears he only tweaked the ankle in question.
Jefferson received a scholarship offer from the Scarlet and Gray a couple of weeks ago. They're in the thick of this race along with Tennessee, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, and others.

Yesterday our own Adam Waters provided readers with a very good update on 2014 Hinesville (GA) Liberty County linebacker Raekwon McMillan.
I was able to chat a little more with Raekwon yesterday and he is very excited to come to Columbus in a few weeks, coming off a very good trip to in-state Georgia.
"The Georgia visit went really well," he said. "I've been talking to Coach Withers and Coach Fickell the most at Ohio State. I'm just looking forward to seeing and feeling the atmosphere on my visit."
McMillan also said that while he hasn't talked to many of Ohio State's current commitments lately, he speaks the most with defensive end commit Jalyn Holmes.
The standout inside linebacker continues to be one of the first recruiting priorities for Urban Meyer and his staff. They have a tough battle ahead with Alabama, Clemson, and Georgia. He'll be on campus for Ohio State's showdown with Penn State two weeks from Saturday.
Elizabethtown (KY) John Hardin defensive tackle Matt Elam is one of the top rated defensive linemen in the 2014 class. He holds an offer from the Buckeyes, but it's a long-shot he ends up in the Scarlet and Gray.
He told Ben Roberts of the Lexington Herald-Leader that the Buckeyes are on of the teams that remain in the running for his commitment. However, three teams, including the likes of Alabama, Kentucky, and Notre Dame lead the way in this race. Louisville is also still in the running, but I doubt he ends up anywhere other than one of the schools listed in his top three.
Matt Elam told me it's safe to say that UK, Bama and ND are the favorites. UT making "strong push." OSU, UofL still in the mix.

Finally Land-Grant Holy Land's basketball insider Zach Fleer was at Pickerington Central high school to watch 2014 Buckeye commit Jae'Sean Tate in practice. After practice concluded, Zach had the opportunity to catch up with the future Buckeye forward.
