In a realignment that really isn't in any way an indictment of Ohio State's early football resume, Urban Meyer's Buckeyes fell one spot in the Week 9 USA TODAY Coaches Poll Top 25 in the wake of Florida State's huge win over formerly #3 Clemson. The Seminoles even received a first place vote for the impressive exhibition they put on Saturday night.
The Buckeyes move to fourth, which is more in line with the AP Top 25 and the Harris Poll Top 25. Following the Buckeyes are undefeated Baylor, Miami (FL), and Missouri. They're widely projected to be fourth in the first BCS standings, which will be released this evening on ESPN.
Also representing the Big Ten in this week's poll are #21 Nebraska, #23 Michigan, and #24 Wisconsin. One would have to think that the league would probably be better served if that order was Wisconsin, Nebraska, then Michigan.
Here's the USA TODAY Coaches Poll Top 25 in its entirety for Week 9:
1. Alabama (7-0) (57 first-place votes)
2. Oregon (7-0) (4)
