With Ohio State just outside Nittany Lion territory to begin the second quarter, Braxton Miller found Devin Smith for 19 yards to the Penn State 28 yard line. From there, it was seemingly effortless Miller capped a 7 play drive with a six yard rushing touchdown.

The silver bullet defense forced another three and the Buckeyes regained control of the football. Locked and loaded again, Braxton Miller delivered darts everywhere on the field. His favorite target thus far being Devin Smith, a completion to number nine put Ohio State on the six yard line and two plays later, Chris Fields hauled in a TD, putting the Buckeyes up 28-0 midway through the second quarter.

Penn State seemed to settle down a tad on their next drive, picking up a first down within their first two plays. Driving into Buckeye territory for the second time on the night, a horse collar by Ryan Shazier aided the Nittany Lions even more as they picked up action on the 17 yard line. Christian Hackenberg then threw a 12 yard touchdown pass to Brandon Felder for the Lion's first points of the night.

Penn State's momentum was short lived as Dontre Wilson took the ensuing kick return 49 yards to the Nittany Lions 45 yard line. Two plays later Carlos Hyde sprinted 39 yards to the end zone untouched.

With nine seconds before the half, Braxton Miller delivered a laser to Corey Brown, a 25 yard touchdown to put the Buckeyes up by 35.
