Many thought the Wisconsin game would have been the biggest home recruiting weekend for the Buckeyes this season; last night's game appears to have snagged the title, however. Well over 50 prospects from all over the United States attended the impressive 63-14 victory over Penn State under the lights of The Shoe.
Amongst those in attendance were four five-stars, countless four-stars, and even some hidden gem in-state talents who made the trek to see what the Ohio State experience was all about. And given the way many of the targets were talking after checking out the thoroughly one sided game, we wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of those names show up in future Ohio State recruiting classes when everything's said and done.
Keep checking back as the Land-Grant Holy Land recruiting team will work to bring you quality visit recaps from a number of the talented recruits who were on campus over the weekend. We start with a few of the best the class of 2015 has to offer and their thoughts on Saturday night's action.
2015 4-star OL Austin Clark (Lexington, VA/Rockbridge County)
"I had a really good time at the game. I got to see Coach Meyer and shake the players' hands before the game. The atmosphere was pretty amazing. The place was packed and the crowd really got into the game. I got to talk to Coach Warinner a little before the game. He said he liked my film and he wants me to stay in touch."
2015 4-star LB Anthony McKee (Columbus, OH/Walnut Ridge)
"Last night was good. OSU stays hyped. That is a campus you do not need to do nothing when you get on campus. [Just] head to the game and get pumped up by all the people. By the time you get to the stadium, its already rockin'. The fans will not stop. I love that me, Luke Fickell and Mark Pantoni talk all the time. Fickell is the one who invited me to the game. Man, it's like every time I go to OSU, there it is something else to see or do there. That is how The Shoe is and that is the pride of OSU. I just thank God I am in the spot I am in."
2015 4-star RB Bryce Love (Wake Forest, NC/Wake Forest-Rolesville)
"It was a good game. Ohio State played near perfect and it was an amazing experience. I really did enjoy the atmosphere. I loved the interactions with the crowd, the campus and how Coach Meyer interacted with his players. I spoke with Coach Withers and Coach Drayton. They talked about me fitting into the program and how much I'd enjoy the school."
2016 LB Ethan Tucky (Delaware, OH/Rutherford B. Hayes)
"I really liked the atmosphere there. They have a lot of die hard fans, which I love to see. Also, watching the band was pretty awesome. A few things that stood out to me was the relationship between the players and coaching staff. They really seemed like a family. The way they treated the recruits was amazing. I really felt honored to be there. I didn't get a chance to talk to many of the coaches. I talked to Coach Fickell and Coach Coombs but all they said was thanks for coming. There were a lot of recruits there so it was hard to get with coaches one-on-one. If I got an offer from OSU and have the chance to play for Urban Meyer, I would be beyond happy. The chance to play for one of the best schools in the country would be such an honor. It would be a dream come true, honestly."
2015 3-star LB Nick Conner (Dublin, OH/Scioto)
"Last night's visit was great. I like being in my home town and seeing them win consistently. I have been to Kentucky and Illinois and at The Shoe, the people are great. Everybody is pumped up; it's a great atmosphere. As a player, there probably isn't anything like it. I talked to Coach Fickell a couple times. When we touched base, he wanted to know how everything was going and how the season was. The main thing that stood out was the success of the team. Everybody thought it would be a tough game and they came out and dominated on both sides of the ball. Also the locker room speech after the game is always great after a big win."
2015 DL Phil Hoskins (Toledo, OH/Whitmer)
"The atmosphere is always amazing at OSU. I love going down there. I talked to Coach Vrabel, the coach who would be mine if I went there, but we just chatted. When he came to my school, he told me about what I need to do to get my scholarship. It would mean a lot to be offered; that's my favorite school."
2015 3-star DB Reggie Rogers (Massillon, OH/Washington)
"It was a great experience compared to the Wisconsin game. It just proved more how much tradition and how loyal the fans are. Also, I got a chance to hang with Devin Smith, Braxton Miller and Gareon Conley, and find out more and more about Ohio State from a player stand point. It is definitely a great place. I talked to all the coaches. Coach Vrabel said he loved the passion I show on the field."
2015 4-star DB Jamel Dean (Cocoa, FL/Cocoa)
"I talked to Urban Meyer and I got the chance to hang out with some of the players. The Ohio State fans are the best supporters."
2015 4-star OL Hunter Littlejohn (Powell, OH/Olentangy Liberty)
"The visit was great. I got to go in the locker room after the game; that was probably the best part. I thought the OSU offensive line played incredible; the whole offense played incredible. I've been to many OSU games before and the atmosphere there is always electric. I brought my strength coach, who is very close friends with Coach Vrabel, so I talked to him quite a bit. He just said it was good having me there and that we would be in touch soon."
2015 DL Kraig Howe (Dayton, OH/Archbishop Alter)
"It was awesome. The Shoe was packed and the place was electric. Penn State was coming off a big win over Michigan, so to see the Buckeyes win big like that was exciting. I was able to talk to Coach Hinton and Coach Fickell as well. I met some coaches when I went to their Friday Night Lights camp in the summer. It was nice getting to the game and seeing them again. I've been to many Ohio State games as a kid, so to go to a game as a recruit was really special."
2015 OL Larry Wells (Kenton, OH/Kenton)
"The game was amazing; I have never been in such a great atmosphere like that. I got a chance to talk to most of the coaches and they were all great guys. It would be awesome to get an offer from them. I'll just keep playing hard the rest of the season and maybe I'll get an offer."
2015 4-star WR/TE Miles Boykin (New Lenox, IL/Providence Catholic)
"It was awesome. I loved everything about it. The fans are crazy; the band was amazing. Every seat was full at the beginning of the game. What stood out the most was the fans. I got to talk to Coach Meyer after the game and Coach Vrabel before and after. They said that they are very interested in me and to keep working." To be offered by OSU would mean the world to me. Its a great place and a great school."
2015 LB Markus Bailey (Hilliard,OH/Davidson)
"The excitement of the Shoe still amazes me even though it wasn't my first time going to an Ohio State game. There's so much more fan base here than the few place I've been. I did get to speak to Coach Fickell briefly in the locker room. He asked me how my season was going and that he would stay in touch. Last visit, I didn't get to go to the locker room after the game. This time I did and I thought that it was cool that I got to listen to Coach Meyer's post game speech."
