Ohio State holds at 4th in 2013 BCS Top 25 rankings

On the heels of an impressive, dominant victory over Big Ten Leaders division rivals, Penn State, Ohio State finds themselves stuck in 4th for a second straight week in the BCS standings.

Greg Bartram-USA TODAY Sports

As widely expected, after defeating Penn State 63-14 this past weekend (on a huge recruiting weekend no less), for a second straight week, Ohio State finds themselves 4th in the BCS standings.

Ahead of them, just like last week, are #1 Alabama of the SEC, the #2 Oregon Ducks of the Pac-12, and the ACC's Florida State. A week prior, Florida State was second with the Ducks third. Oregon's victory over previously #12 UCLA likely helped their strength of schedule to regress to the mean a bit, allowing for the jump many had been projecting for some time.

For Ohio State, the narrative remains precisely the same: survive and advance. Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer has been referring to OSU's state as "March Madness" – and he's not wrong. If Ohio State handles their business, everything else is essentially out of their control. It's possible they win the Big Ten championship and finish no higher than 4th in the standings. Of course should just two teams slip up...

The Massey Computer ranking continues to be the cruelest to Ohio State, but the teams' highest and lowest computer rankings are both excluded from the actual formula. With those two removed, the Buckeyes' average amongst the remaining computers? The same as the human polls: 4th.

Here were the complete, full BCS standings for Week 10 (the second release overall):
