Ohio State vs. Northwestern score update: Wildcat offense continues success, OSU trails by 6

Northwestern's defense continued their stingy ways when backed up into their own territory, making every point earned for the Buckeye offense. Kain Colter continued to impress everywhere he lined up on the field, grabbing his second touchdown of the night.

Trevor Siemian started off at QB for the Cats to begin the second quarter and on the first play, hit Christian Jones for a 25 yard gain to the OSU 16 yard line. Three plays later, Kain Colter found the end zone for the second time, this time on the ground to put Northwestern back on top.

Having to answer the call on the ensuing drive, Braxton Miller led a drive deep into Wildcat territory. With a nice blend of runs and passes to get down to the five yard line, Ohio State had to settle for a field goal yet again.

With Siemian continuing at quarterback, the Wildcat offense continued their efficiency. Finding, success towards the sidelines in the passing game, NU kicked the door open into Buckeye territory with a 41 yard reception by Venric Mark. As the Wildcats found their way just outside the ten, Luke Fickell and the defense was able to make a stop, holding Northwestern to just three points.

A fake punt set the Buckeyes back even further as Northwestern took over on Ohio State's 30 yard line. With Jamal Marcus picking up his second sack of the season, Northwestern lined up for another field goal with just under a minute to go in the half. Jeff Budzien kicked it through and extended the lead to six.
