Always on the grind trying to find future Buckeyes, the Ohio State staff offered their second JUCO defensive lineman in recent days. This time, current Wisconsin verbal commit Joe Keels received his offer from Ohio State, joining Terrell Clinkscales who was offered by OSU on Monday.
Land-Grant Holy Land caught up with the 6-4 275 pound three star prospect and had him break down how he found out about the scholarship offer from the Bucks and if OSU has a chance in luring him to Columbus:
"I got a call from them last night. My recruiter, Timmi Norling, sends my film out and whoever likes it calls. I honestly can't remember who (OSU coach that offered), I told them honestly its too late to look into. I graduate in three weeks and have to sign, so I don't have time to really start a new relationship. It was my favorite team growing up (OSU) and still is to this day. It's something I will say thank you to, but I'll pass. I'll still cheer for them unless they are playing me."
Even though Keels, who attends Highland Community College in Kansas, is currently committed to Wisconsin, he is still considering programs such as Nebraska and Oregon before making his college plans official in a couple weeks on the 1st of December.
According to 247Sports, Keels is the 17th overall prospect and fifth defensive tackle in the 2014 JUCO ranks and accounted for 20 tackles and 2.5 sacks for Highland this season.
