To start the second quarter, Indiana was set to kick a 42 yard field goal, but saw the attempt hit the right post keeping a big zero on the scoreboard for the Hoosiers.
With Ohio State taking back over on offense, the same killer instinct from the first quarter didn't seem to be there, credit to the Indiana defense for making some adjustments. Cam Johnston was brought back onto the field for another punt—a good one, pinning Indiana inside their own 20 yard line.
As the Silver Bullets continued to play lights out, on 4th down Bradley Roby blocked yet another punt and Ron Tanner scooped it up giving the Buckeyes great field position. Kenny Guiton came in for his first snap of the game and reversed it to Braxton Miller, who was also on the field, and Miller made a superman-esque play, leaping over a couple Hoosiers to find the end zone as Ohio State took a 21-0 lead.
Indiana, again, started to find a bit of success. Tre Roberson and Nate Sudfeld split reps at quarterback on the drive and the Hoosiers moved to the Ohio State 26 yard line. As another 4th down loomed, Sudfeld was sacked by Michael Bennett and it was a stalled drive for Indiana. Braxton Miller then was in 2 minute drill mode. A 17 yard rush was followed by a 34 yard pass to Jeff Heuerman then Carlos Hyde did the rest, bolting in for a five yard touchdown.
Notable stats:
-Braxton Miller: 5/9 47 yards; 10 rushes 136 yards 2 TDs.
-Carlos Hyde: 12 rushes 41 yards 2 TDs.
-Total yards: Ohio State- 265 Indiana- 166
