Ohio State-Wyoming score update: Bucks up, 38-34

Larry Nance Jr. looked a lot like his old man as the Buckeyes played 'cleaner' than they did against American, but the Cowboys represented a marked increase in degree of difficulty.

In a game of runs, Ohio State heads into the intermission up just 38-34. The Buckeyes came out of the gates far more assertive than they were the majority of the American game, but still had periods in which their offense looked just as rough as that contest and the first half of the Marquette game.

Wyoming star Larry Nance Jr was as advertised – with 11 points on 5-for-9 shooting, he was the best non-Lenzelle Smith Jr. player on either team. Smith Jr. had a half himself; the senior guard went off for 12 points and 5 rebounds on a 4-for-7 shooting performance. Shannon Scott also continued his strong play with 7 points and 2 assists in the half.

For the Buckeyes, the key to the second half will be continued aggressiveness and sustaining their second chance opportunities. The Buckeyes' put backs were a huge advantage for them early in the first half.

KEY STATS:

Larry Nance Jr., Wyoming - 11 points, 3 rebounds

Lenzelle Smith Jr. - 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4-for-7 shooting

Amir Williams - 6 points, 6 rebounds
