Behind 9 points from Lenzelle Smith Jr., the Ohio State basketball team leads Walsh 49-26 at the intermission. Smith Jr. also has 5 boards to go along with his three field goals. LaQuinton Ross started quietly for the Buckeyes, but finished the half with 8, as did sophomore guard Amedeo Della Valle, who made both of the three point baskets he attempted.
Perhaps most impressively, junior big man Amir Williams played one of the more assertive halves we've seen from him in some time. At the under 8 timeout, Williams had 6 boards (he'd ultimately finish with 7 for the half) to go along with 6 points, an early block, and 2 steals (one which he nearly took coast to coast to finish not unlike a much smaller player would've).
Freshman Marc Loving got into the action 5 minutes into the game and demonstrated a relatively fluid game. Loving finished the half with 4 points on 3 field goal attempts and particularly given his relatively underdeveloped build, an extremely respectable 5 boards. Jesse Hardin led the attack for Walsh with 9 points. Trey Fletcher was the second leading scorer for the Cavs with 5 points off the bench.
