Ohio State heads into halftime leading North Dakota State, 41-28. LaQuinton leads all Buckeye scorers with 13 points. The Bison's key player so far is Taylor Braun, with 9 points. OSU is hoping to finish strong, and bring home a 75th consecutive home win against unranked opponents.
The Buckeyes came out firing early, with their first 9 points coming from 3-pointers: a pair from Lenzelle Smith, Jr. and one by LaQuinton Ross. Keeping true to his early season form, Sam Thompson added a ferocious two-handed dunk on an alley-oop from Aaron Craft.
The Bison were hindered by foul trouble throughout the first half. As a team, they recorded 12 to Ohio State's 5. The Buckeyes had a balanced scoring attack, with Ross's 13 followed closely by 10 from Lenzelle Smith and 6 points off the bench by Marc Loving and Sam Thompson.
It has been a game of runs for the Buckeyes so far, and they will look to build more consistency coming out for the second half.
