Ohio State vs. Notre Dame 2013: GameThread

Thad Matta's basketball Buckeyes look to stay perfect on the season against Notre Dame.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Thad Matta's Ohio State Buckeyes are 11-for-11 on the 2013-2014 men's basketball season. They've also won every contest by double digits. Perhaps in their toughest test to date (thanks for underachieving, Marquette), the Buckeyes travel to New York City and the hallowed hardwood of Madison Square Garden to take on the ACC (weird to read as it is to write)'s Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

While Mike Brey's Irish are far from unblemished this season, they are coming off a solid neutral court win over Tom Crean and Indiana. The Irish's 3 defeats? Larry Bird's alma matter, Indiana State, at then #23 Iowa (B-1-G! B-1-G! B-1-G!) and during the early stages of the Gotham Classic against the same North Dakota State side Ohio State soundly dismissed.

The key for the basketball Bucks? Play their game. If LaQuinton Ross continues to show up (as he has for much of the last several contests), Amir Williams' growth continues to become a trend and not an aberration, and Lenzelle Smith Jr./Aaron Craft/Shannon Scott/Marc Loving fill in the gaps, the Bucks should be fine. Given that this particular group doesn't have a ton of experience away from the cozy confines of Value City Arena on the season, this should prove a nice final pre-conference increased degree of difficult warm up.

Below is your Ohio State-Notre Dame GameThread. Whether you're a sidewalk ND alum, lifetime Ohio resident, or alumnus of either schools, be good to one another, and we'll be swell. GIF Oracle is still hungover following yesterday's network issues, so you'll have to provide your own lulz in the comments below.

Go Bucks.

Leprechaun 2 is pretty much the dopest movie ever. No disrespect to Mike Brey.
