From the moment ESPN Films started the 30 for 30 series, I have been waiting, and hoping, that someone would pick up a story about Ohio State. With the history and mystique surrounding the Buckeyes, I assumed it was only a matter of time. Finally, in its second season, there was planned to be an Ohio State-related story. "Youngstown Boys" covers the interconnected journey and evolving relationship of two former Ohio State stars -- RB Maurice Clarett and coach Jim Tressel.
Since being announced, my excitement has been building for December 14th release, and I'm sure that many Buckeye fans feel the same way. A look into the past, two of Ohio State's brightest stars had come from the same area, that area being the city of Youngstown, Ohio.
The trailer itself hits some feelings, and ends with the beginning of a familiar line "What if I told you...they were undefeated on the field, but under fire off of it?" The film will be shown on ESPN, at 9 PM ET, December 14th (which falls on a Saturday).
