Thad Matta's basketball Buckeyes look for win #7 against future B1G foes, Maryland.

Mitch Stringer-USA TODAY Sports

Ohio State found their stride against North Florida, but now they face a marked increase in difficulty. While Maryland isn't the Duke, North Carolina, or Syracuse Ohio State would've preferred, it is a well coached side that gives the Buckeyes an excuse to (rudely) welcome their new football divisional rivals to the Big Ten early.

Though LaQuinton Ross has been mostly a non-factor in the early goings in 2013-14, he seemed to finally come into his own against the Ospreys. With former Xavier guard Dez Wells and former Michigan forward Evan Smotrycz headed into Value City Arena, the Buckeyes will need all the offense they can get.

Below is your Ohio State-Maryland 2013 Big Ten-ACC Challenge GameThread. The Big Ten needs some help to get to the requisite seven wins this year, but Ohio State will, at the very least, look to do their part.

Go Bucks.
