Urban Meyer isn't the only Ohio State head coach capable of drawing headlines for landing big time commits. Monday evening, Thad Matta and the basketball Bucks received a commitment from 6-9 3-star C/F David Bell. Bell was flying a bit under the radar, but after taking an unofficial visit to the Buckeyes' central Ohio campus, decided he had enough info to pull the trigger on the decision to play his college basketball for Ohio State.

Bell, a product of the Garfield Heights, Ohio area, joins a 2014 class that already includes Keita Bates-Diop as well as Jae'Sean Tate. Both Bates-Diop and Tate were a bit higher profile in their respective recruitments and same day commitment to the Buckeyes. Bell is in his junior year and is presently averaging 17.3 points per game, 8.1 rebounds, and 4.6 blocks per contest.

Bell was also being recruited by DePaul, Ohio, Kent State, Miami (Ohio), Dayton, Wright State, and Cleveland State. He gives the Buckeyes some much needed future size in the interior and could be a potential impact player down low for Thad Matta's basketball Bucks.
