Thad Matta's been spitting fire to absolutely anyone that'll hear him out about the snub of Aaron Craft as the Big Ten's 2013 Defensive Player of the Year. "I’m not taking anything away from Oladipo. I think the guy is awesome. But Aaron doesn’t fly through the air and pin shots on the glass; he takes them from the guy’s hands when he’s on the floor," Matta said earlier this week
Aaron Craft, Ohio State's all-time steals leader (and just a junior at that) and Matta's Buckeyes will get a chance to make Nebraska the unwitting victim of their collective frustrations. The Huskers, behind first year head coach Tim Miles (late of Colorado State), won their first ever Big Ten Tournament game Thursday evening, escaping Purdue, 57-55. And while Miles has made almost as many headlines for his tweeting at half time of games as he has on the hardwood, his first group of Huskers seem much improved over their Doc Sadler led predecessor and could be as close as a year away from being a legit spoiler.
Of course, Ohio State has to do their part and make sure the plan doesn't come to fruition a year early. And we're going to watch them do it. And you're going to join us. If you've been here before for football (or heck, basketball), you know the drill. If you don't, well, first and foremost, welcome. We're a pretty laid back group. Keep the personal attacks to a minimum, and if you're going to argue, be smart, or at least be witty. Oh, and if you've got GIF game for days, you're going to fit in quite nicely here.
Three wins 'til a 2013 Big Ten Tournament championship, then six after that to something even more special. Let's get it.
