Ohio State recruiting: State Secrets, 3/18 - Truly March Madness

Ohio State basketball made it as a number two seed in the West Region, which will only help both coaching staffs, football and basketball, when it comes to the recruiting front.

'14 JUCO OL Jermaine Eluemunor is planning on visiting the Buckeyes in the next few weeks.

Throughout the course of the Big Ten Tournament, which began on Thursday and ended Sunday, head coach Urban Meyer and his coaching staff were keeping busy, continuing to pursue athletes across the country. With spring practice still going on, and as we near the 2013 version of Ohio State's spring game, more visits will be taking place in and around Columbus.

Speaking of visiting, '14 RB Joe Mixon released his top 15 favorite schools on Friday, a list that Ohio State made the cut in. The other schools that Mixon has cut down to are: California, Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, UCLA, Washington, Arizona State, Notre Dame, Oregon State, Wisconsin, Michigan, Arkansas, Clemson, Tennessee and USC. Mixon also has told the media he will visit Ohio State for sure, which is good news for the Buckeyes.

The 6'2", 195-pounder rushed for 1,443 yards on 201 attempts last year, scoring 20 times on the ground. Mixon also caught 18 passes for 383 yards and 6 touchdowns. If that wasn't enough, he also played both ways, garnering 23 tackles, one sack and two interceptions. He was simply all over the field throughout the entire season.

'14 QB Drew Barker doesn't have an offer from Ohio State, but the interest from the Buckeyes is there. On Friday, the 6'4", 210-pound gunslinger was just selected to the 2014 Army All-American Game, an invitation he accepted. Barker is planning on taking a visit to Tennessee, a school that just got a verbal commit from Buckeye target '14 RB Jalen Hurd. As of now, Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee all lead for Barker.

The number one JUCO player in the country, '14 JUCO OL Jermaine Eluemunor just finished up his visit to Penn State, where he was reportedly extremely impressed. Now, his next upcoming visit will be to Ohio State. This will most likely come during a spring practice, or perhaps even the 2013 spring game. Standing 6'6", and weighing 300-pounds, Eluemunor has nine total offers and is eligible for two years and one season with a college football team.

'15 ATH George Brown Jr. told our Charles Doss that he will be at Ohio State this coming Saturday, making a visit to Columbus. Brown Jr. has two scholarship offers already, one from Cincinnati and one from Kentucky. Checking in at 6'6", 253-pounds, it's unsure what position Brown Jr. will play right now, but his older brother was a former offensive lineman at Virginia Tech.

Finally, '14 QB Zack Darlington told the media on Sunday that he feels Ohio State is close to offering him. Right now, Darlington holds offers from Minnesota, Nebraska, Ole Miss and West Virginia along with more. If true, you have to wonder what the thought process with '14 QB Caleb Henderson would be, along with the aforementioned Drew Barker. Speaking of Henderson, some new highlights were just released, so feel free to check those out here:
