First, a quick refresher on Ohio State's nonconference schedule for 2014:
August 30th – vs Navy in Baltimore, MD (2012 record: 8-5)
Sept 13th – vs Kent State (2012 record 11-3)
Sept 20th – vs Virginia Tech (2012 record 7-6)
Sept 27th –vs Cincinnati (2012 record 10-3)
Note that the 9 game Big Ten conference schedule doesn't kick in until 2016, so even though the league will switch to East/West in 2014, so Ohio State can keep 4 non-conference games.
The Big Ten released the full football schedule for the league today. Here's what we have for the Buckeyes:
October 4 – at Maryland
October 11 – Bye
October 18 – Rutgers
October 25 – at Penn State
November 1 – Illinois
November 8 – at Michigan State
November 15 – at Minnesota
November 22 – Indiana
November 29 – Michigan
December 6 – Big Ten Championship Game
All in all, it should be a much more challenging road for the Buckeyes than their slate for this season. While it's probably unlikely that Kent State remains a double digit win team without Darrell Hazell coaching, they could still be good enough to be feisty, while Navy, Cincinnati and Virginia Tech will all likely be tougher outs than Buffalo and Florida A&M.
Ohio State has never played Rutgers or Maryland before.
