Peach State signal caller Stephen Collier made the trip up from Leesburg, Georgia last weekend to check out Ohio State and try to impress the coaching staff at camp. The 6-4 210 pound Lee County High star already has double digit scholarship offers including Boston College, Cincinnati, Wake Forest and Toledo, but would love to add one from the Buckeyes to that list. As a junior, Collier passed for 1,887 yards and rushed for another 485 scoring a total of 34 touchdowns and six two point conversions.
In a short conversation, Stephen told me the following about his time spent in the 614 and where the Bucks would sit on his list if they were to send an offer his way:
"The camp was awesome. I loved learning some new things and getting to play with some incredible talent. I spoke with most of the offensive staff and Coach Meyer. Campus was awesome, top tier as expected. If Ohio State offered, I would seriously consider going there. It's a great place with great players and a great coaching staff."
Collier who is currently ranked a three star by the 247Composite Rankings, was recently one of the 18 quarterbacks picked to participate in the Nike Elite 11 camp finals being held June 28th through July 3rd in Beaverton, Oregon. Stephen will be joining one time Buckeye targets DeShaun Watson (Clemson), Kyle Allen (Texas A&M), Drew Barker (Kentucky), DeShone Kizer (Notre Dame) of Toledo Central Catholic, as well as quite a few other of the top passers in the nation at the camp.
