Ohio State hosted University School (FL) teammates Quincy Wilson and Richard Yeargin again on Monday but they weren't the only prospects on campus. Joining them were class of 2014 Chicago De La Salle offensive tackle Jamarco Jones and quarterback Shelby Spence. Jamarco is a 6-5 290 pound four star lineman who is no stranger to the Columbus campus. Jones is fresh off weekend visits to Michigan and Michigan State and will make his college choice between the Buckeyes, Wolverines and Spartans on June 27th. According to the 247Sports Crystal Ball, most recruiting analysts feel he will make the 614 his home for the next few years.

Spence is a 6-1 195 pound dual threat passer and is also the son of one time Notre Dame defensive back Marv Spence. Shelby, currently a non-ranked, under-the-radar prospect has already checked out numerous schools and even though he has yet to receive any scholarship offers, the shifty signal caller is on plenty of programs' recruiting boards.

Another talented recruit to visit Columbus yesterday was class of 2015 wideout, C.J. Sanders. The son of one time Buckeye and NFL receiver Chris Sanders currently holds offers from Stanford, Vanderbilt, and Tennessee to name a few. An interesting fact about the 5-9 160 pound Brentwood Academy (TN) speedster is that just a few years ago he portrayed a young Ray Charles in the motion picture "Ray".

But the visits won't stop with those on campus yesterday; the staff will have plenty of recruits on campus today and tomorrow to both take in the sights as well as participate in OSU's camps. Some of those recruits include 2014 Hillside High (NC) teammates wide receiver Trevion Thompson and running back Donte Thomas-Williams, Virginia tight end/defensive end Jalyn Holmes, and big Pennsylvania class of 2015 offensive tackle Sterling Jenkins.

Thompson might be one of the top receivers on the Buckeyes board after Cincinnati LaSalle wide out Derek Kief committed to Alabama over the weekend. Trevion currently holds a long list of offers that includes the Buckeyes, Clemson, West Virginia amongst others. Last season at Hillside he had 40 receptions for 700 yards to go along with seven touchdowns.

Donte Thomas-Williams is a 6-0 210 pound bruiser who rushed for 750 yards and six touchdowns last season. Even though the Bucks have yet to offer him, plenty of programs such as Clemson, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech and West Virginia have.

Holmes, a 6-5 225 four star beast, is talented enough to play on either side of the ball at the next level. The Buckeyes are currently recruiting him at defensive end. As a junior for Lake Taylor High, Holmes accounted for 252 receiving yards and seven touchdowns on offense while racking up 75 tackles and 12 sacks on defense. Holmes has Ohio State, Florida State and Clemson as his top three potential landing spots currently.

Sterling Jenkins might be going into his junior year, but the 6-8 305 pound man child already has an upperclassman's offer list with the Bucks, Michigan,Penn State, West Virginia and others already sending him scholarship offers after an impressive sophomore campaign and strong camp performances so far this summer.

Shifting gears, Pope John XXIII (NJ) athlete Noah Brown released his top eight last night via Twitter. The following teams made the cut for the 6-2 215 pound four star prospect:

As a junior Brown rushed for nearly 850 yards and 14 scores while also catching over 40 passes for 630 yards and another six touchdowns. Virginia Tech might just be the early favorite for his services.

QUICK HITS:

  • 2015 Trotwood-Madison defensive back Kiy Beckham tells me he well attend camp at Ohio State today and tomorrow. Illinois has already offered Beckham.

  • 2016 Akron St. Vincent St. Mary athlete Tyrece Speaight will also attend camp today.
