After a couple weekends without many "big" headlines on the subject of recruiting for the Ohio State football team, the tide really turned this past weekend. The Buckeyes got started off quickly, with new offers being handed out to two recruits. '14 OG Damien Mama and '14 RB Jordan Whitehead both received notification that the coaching staff had offered them a scholarship.
Mama, a 6'5", 340-pound offensive guard, is ranked as the third best guard in the class of 2014, and rated as the eighth best prospect overall in the state of California. Mama has been invited to participate in Nike's The Opening 2013 this summer. USC seems like the team to beat in this particular case, as it will be hard to lure him away from home.
Terrence Alexander plays cornerback at 5'10", 175-pounds and as previously mentioned, received his offer on Wednesday, but Land-Grant Holy Land caught up with Alexander on Sunday to see what his thoughts were on getting an offer from Ohio State:
"It's great getting an offer from a university like Ohio State. When it comes to college football, it can't really get bigger; it's a prestigious program. I really like Coach Meyer as a coach. Everywhere he goes becomes a winning program for the most part. I like the fact that he is trying to bring the southern players to Columbus. I have also talked to Coach Withers and Coach Coombs. When it comes to visits, I plan to visit soon, I just have to get everything official."
Alexander also has made arrangements to visit Ohio State on June 21st, which is coming up rather quickly. A commit watch could be in order for that weekend.
Jordan Whitehead comes from the same high school as previously recruited '13 WR Robert Foster, who committed to Alabama after a brief relationship with the coaching staff at Ohio State. Whitehead plays cornerback for Central Valley and checks in at 5'10", 175-pounds, which is roughly the same as Alexander. Whitehead is ranked as the 18th best cornerback in the country for the class of 2014, and fifth best prospect out of the state of Pennsylvania. He now holds offers from Penn State, Ohio State, Rutgers and West Virginia.

'14 LB Petera Wilson might be an unfamiliar name to you, but the Ohio State coaching staff might be pleased to find they've landed themselves in Wilson's Top 12. The 6'3", 220-pound inside linebacker is rated a 4-star and the 11th best ILB in the country and sixth best prospect out of Tennessee. He holds offers from teams such as Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU and USC, among others.

'14 S Quincy Wilson is yet another recruit that has been in constant contact with Ohio State. The 4-star is ranked as the 18th best safety in the class of 2014 and 33rd best prospect out of the state of Florida. Standing in at 6'2", 195-pounds and running a 4.60 40-yard dash, Wilson holds offers from top programs as well, such as Arizona, Arkansas, Auburn, Cincinnati, Clemson and many more.

'15 WR George Campbell Jr. is not only the top receiver in the class of 2015, but also the 16th best overall prospect in the class itself. Coming out of the state of Florida and checking in at 6'3", 184-pounds, Campbell Jr. has been going back and forth with Ohio State since his first time hearing from them. It's only good news that the Buckeyes are still in contention with this particular athlete. In 2012, Campbell Jr. caught 30 passes for 766 yards and five touchdowns. Not to mention the fact that he contributed 57 tackles on the defensive side of the ball as well.
