Ohio State recruiting: State Secrets, 7/24 - Jermaine Eluemunor announcement

2015 quarterback Alex Malzone prepares for Friday's camp, the latest on Jermaine Eluemunor, and two Buckeye basketball targets shine at prestigious basketball camp.

Arkansas is now the favorites for Jermaine Eluemunor.
Arkansas is now the favorites for Jermaine Eluemunor.

Starting today off with the biggest position of interest on any football team, 2015 quarterback Alex Malzone will be in attendance for Friday Night Lights.

Malzone is a two sport star and this will be his second visit to a Big Ten school. The first was to Michigan State back in December. While the Buckeye staff is still gathering info on Malzone, a great camp showing would definitely turn heads and put Malzone in a great position with the Ohio State staff. Though the 6'2" athlete is a throw-first type of quarterback with a big arm, he has shown flashes of the ability to be dangerous in the ground attack.

Junior College offensive line prospect Jermaine Eluemunor is set to announce his decision this Friday. The original plans were supposed to be a Wednesday announcement, but instead, Eluemunor will make it official on Twitter sometime during Friday—though I use 'official' very loosely. The one time UCLA commit, Jermaine has seemed to fall in love with just about every school he's visited. The decision seems to be trending the way of Bret Bielema and the Arkansas Razorbacks, and that's fitting as he visited Fayetteville last weekend. 247Sports Crystal Ball feature has Eluemunor 60% to Arkansas. Jermaine Eluemunor is one of the biggest targets left on Ohio State's board and closing on him would be huge for this class.

Staying on the offensive line, it seems as if the Buckeyes are slowly turning up the press for Demetrius Knox:

If in fact Eluemunor does becomes a Razorback, it would leave a huge whole at a position where Ohio State needs to finish strong. Knox would then become an answer. Though, Knox has played the recruiting game very well up to this point, there's no question that Ohio State feels they are in a good position to land one of Texas' top prospects.

Like Knox, New Jersey tight end/wide receiver Mike Gesicki was able to get his hands on some mail—also telling him to "join the family." Gesicki has the frame of a Greek God, and being a tight end, is able to be a mismatch in the passing game for whoever guards him. Safeties have trouble with his body control, corner backs with his size, and linebackers with his speed.

To basketball, 2015 prospect and Ohio State target Luke Kennard has impressed at the Chicago Summer Jam. Going up against some of the best athletes in his class, Kennard was able to hold his own and enforce himself as one of the top scorers at the camp.

Also worth noting, if you are one to follow Mark Pantoni on Twitter, you know how much he loves to hint fans when a new commit jumps on board. There's been multiple instance's of Pantoni having fun with Buckeye Nation and Tuesday night, he had another one:

If you are a stranger to Twitter, most Buckeye fans, commits, and some coaches have referred to this season's 2014 recruiting class as 'Dream 14'. While a name has not officially popped up, anytime Pantoni is giddy on Twitter, there is, in most cases, something's brewing.

QUICK HITS:

- Max Howell, a 2015 defensive back and Ohio commit, picked up an offer from the Ohio State Buckeyes.

- Aside from Luke Kennard, fellow Buckeye target V.J. King is also putting on a show at the Chicago Summer Jam.

- You can check out 2014 Ohio State hoops commit D'Angelo Russell in action this Thursday night at 7 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
