Perhaps the biggest news of Ohio State's seventh day of Camp Meyer 2.0 was what wasn't being said at a post practice interview session. Just hours after a report that sophomore defensive back Najee Murray had been dismissed from the football team for a team rules violation, an Ohio State spokesperson declined to confirm the report. Rivals.com's Ben Axelrod had echoed the initial report from his sources' end a little more than an hour after after the original.
In more tangible developments, as first reported by Ohio State freshman ATH Darron Lee's mom, local Columbus news personality Candice, freshman Ohio State linebacker Mike Mitchell and freshman WR/RB/Pivot, Dontre Wilson, became the first two scholarship players of this fall camp to lose their black stripes.
Wilson had been garnering praise from the Ohio State side since Big Ten Media Days, when OSU quarterback Braxton Miller gushed about his playmaking abilities. Mitchell is one of the most physically mature linebackers to come through Ohio State since the Tressel-era, and could see early playing time in a unit lacking a ton of starting experience.
Amongst the media gathered at a limited interview session, which featured but a few Ohio State players and coaches, a number shared observations/photos they were able to take during their time at the facilities. Here were a couple of those:
