It was a fairly quiet Monday in the recruiting world for Ohio State football, as the Buckeyes get set for the first game of the 2013 season on Saturday. Ohio State may be known for their football and basketball programs, but any time an athlete commits to a Buckeye team, it's worth taking a look at. In this case, Ohio State lacrosse received a commitment from Christian Feliziani, a 2016 faceoff specialist, on Monday night. Feliziani shows some good speed and quick moves when facing off, which is certainly an important role to play on a lacrosse team.

While it will be a couple of years before you see Feliziani suiting up in the scarlet and gray, you can be sure to check out his summer highlight tapes if you're into that sort of thing for lacrosse. Most of the video is pretty impressive, and we have it for your viewing pleasure right here:

'14 5-star RB Joe Mixon released his top five on Twitter Monday afternoon, but unfortunately, the Buckeyes didn't make the cut. While Ohio State as of late hasn't really been considered, it goes both ways between Mixon and the Buckeyes. Mixon tweeted out the teams in no order, all in separate tweets:

Oklahoma and California seem to have a slight edge for Mixon's services, and the 247 Crystal Ball would seem to agree it might be a toss up between those two schools.

'14 JUCO OL Chad Mavety has long been a target for Ohio State's recruiting staff, and is now planning on cutting down his long list of teams to five or six. The Buckeyes are expected to continue pursuing Mavety, and from there, we can assume that Ohio State will be included when Mavety releases his favorites. There's no doubt that Mavety has a strong relationship with the staff itself, and that should help play a role in recruiting for his talents.

Mavety is also planning on visiting Ohio State for the weekend of the Indiana game (November 22nd through the 24th). As far as Mavety committing before then, it's a toss up. The Crystal Ball has the chances of Mavety committing to Ohio State at 96%, which is a pretty solid mark. Almost every single writer that has a vote (including myself) in the Crystal Ball have picked Mavety heading to the Buckeyes. Our fearless leader, Luke Zimmerman, sees Mavety turning towards Florida State when it's all said and done.
