Ohio State vs. Buffalo score update, Hall paces 30-13 Buckeye lead

A sloppier start to the 2nd quarter allowed the Bulls to get on the board, pulling as close as 23-13, before Jordan Hall pushed the margin back to 30-13.

The 2nd quarter didn't quite start with the same fireworks as the first, as Brown bobbled a punt return, and Braxton was sacked on the first play from scrimmage. The Bucks quickly recovered though, as Miller hit two passes to get Ohio State near the 50. On a 4th and short though, the Buckeyes tried to feed Hall quickly, but was stuffed in the backfield, giving the Bulls their best field position yet.

That momentum was quickly halted with a 15 yard chop block penalty against Buffalo, putting the Bulls back on their side of the 50. Doran Grant has a great pass tip, robbing the Bulls of a catch close to the 1st down marker, and a pass on 3rd and 20 was tipped, then intercepted by Ron Tanner.

The momentum didn't last for long though, as Dontre Wilson fumbled the ball while trying to squeeze a few more yards on Ohio State's first play.

Armani Reeve was a little too aggressive with a tackle, picking up a personal foul penalty, giving Buffalo 1st and 10 inside the 20. The Bulls finally hit paydirt, hitting Matt Weiser for a 16 yard TD, pulling to within 23-7.

A promising Buckeye drive was cut short, as Buffalo's Khalil Mack jumped into the backfield, intercepted Miller, and then won a footrace against Miller, Wilson and the rest of the team, scrambling all the way to the endzone, pulling Buffalo back to within 10, 23-13, after Buffalo's 2 point conversion attempt was stopped.

The Buckeyes wouldn't waste time in striking back though, as Dontre Wilson took the kick 52 yards to get to the Buffalo 38. Jordan Hall took the first play from scrimmage all the way to the house, on a 37 yard scamper to push the margin to 30-13.

A scary moment for Buckeye fans happened when Ran Shazier was carted off to the locker room, reportedly complaining of leg cramps. The Buckeyes didn't need him on the first series though, forcing a Buffalo punt inside their own 20.

Ohio State was unable to take advantage of favorable field position though, a Khalil Mack was able to blow past Taylor Decker to grab a sack and forcing Ohio State's first punt of the game.

The Bulls began their drive to try and cut into the margin before halftime, managing to get a first down, but forced the Bulls into a 3rd and long, and Licita's bomb attempt under pressure was nearly picked off by Armani Reeves.

The Buckeyes attempted to run a "one minute drill", feeding Jordan Hall on a shovel pass, then finding Brown on a full-extension catch deep that was called back due to a hold call, ending the drive.
