Ohio State vs. Cal: Game time, TV schedule, odds and more

Ohio State-Cal is the focal point of your evening. So how are you going to spend your Saturday afternoon?

Greg Bartram-USA TODAY Sports

Before we get to see if Kenny Guiton (in all likelihood) can lead Ohio State to a more comfortable victory than last year's 7-point surprisingly close tangle with the Cal Golden Bears, all eyes will be on what some are calling the game of the young season.

In College Station, last year's classic Texas A&M-Alabama tilt gets the sequel it deserves. After a summer of tumult, defending Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel tries to lead a Texas A&M team that finds themselves 7-point home underdogs. If anything, that the line is that low is a bit of a nod to A&M's great 2012 as their defense has struggled to find consistency between suspensions and unevenness in the early goings this year.

Though Alabama is 16-8 versus the spread as road favorites under Nick Saban, Bama is just 6-4 against the spread after a bye week since 2009. Though it's no reflection on the Sumlin era, A&M is just 9-9-1 when home underdogs during the last decade. Sumlin, for what it's worth, is 0-1 in such occasions.

A sneaky good early Big Ten/Pac-12 contest occurs during the noon slate as Nebraska and UCLA match wits in a battle of Top 25 sides. Big Red was 6-1 against the spread at home last year, but are 0-2 against the Mountain West's Wyoming and Conference USA's Southern Miss to start 2013. Though the Cornhuskers enter this one as three point favorites, UCLA matches up really well on paper. This might be a smart money line play as this might just turn out to be the Bruins' to lose.

Here's the rest of college football's third complete Saturday's slate:
