Former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor found out Monday evening that he'll be starting for the Oakland Raiders in their Week One game next Sunday in Indianapolis.
Matt Flynn, the quarterback that beat Ohio State in the 2008 BCS Championship Game with LSU, had been the starter for Oakland's first three preseason games. Pryor got the nod while Flynn was nursing an injury in their fourth and final preseason game, but looked uneven in the finale. Over the holiday weekend, the Raiders released fourth round pick Tyler Wilson, late of Arkansas, in favor of former Penn State quarterback (and undrafted free agent) Matt McGloin.
Though many Buckeye fans have conflicted opinions about Pryor, last year he became the first Ohio State alum to start at quarterback in an NFL game since Troy Smith started for the San Franciso 49ers against the St Louis Rams December 26th, 2010. This will mark his second career NFL start.
