Cardale Jones took over the offense to start the second half and on the first play, rushed for 10 yards. James Clark was shaken up during his first action of the year. When action picked back up most of the workload was put on Jones as well as Ezekiel Elliott. Facing a 4th down in Rattler territory, Cardale Jones tucked it and scampered 13 yards to a first down. A few plays later, Ezekiel Elliott scored his first touchdown as a Buckeye with a 16 yard run.
Ohio State defensive starters were scattered throughout the defense when the D took the field for the first time in the second half. With a slew of young players in the field, the Buckeye defense yielded the same results, allowing just one first down and forcing a punt.
As Cardale Jones left the game for a cut on his hand, Kenny Guiton took over at quarterback once again. It continued to be the Elliott-show as EZE bounced one to the outside for a 57 yard gain to FAMU's 9 yard line. After a holding penalty wiped out another Buckeye touchdown, the Buckeye O was able to rally as Elliott found the end zone from 13 yards out.
